Well, this morning at 6:30 AM we had our first AZ hike...about a 3 mile round tripper at Bell Rock, one of Sedona's more popular vortexes. We walked from the new trailhead to a vista overlooking the city that Joy had visited some 25 years ago when she had lived here. The views were spectacular as evident in the attached photos. The selfie of us I think accurately reflects how a couple of more mature flatlanders might feel after a 3 mile jaunt at about 4500' elevation. We made it! Joy and I are off and running on our next writing project. We are starting research on a book of short stories that are spiritually focused, historical fiction based in various locations around our great nation. We are starting the research in Sedona, AZ and attached are a couple of pictures from our driving trip from Galveston to Sedona. Sorry for not posting more often, but Joy and I have been super busy with numerous book events, plus we took a research tour for our next historical function novel (which should be published later this year or early in 2020.) All that, plus I volunteer at a world class museum here in Galveston, The Bryan Museum. All these activities really eat up the time for JJ Galveston Books. The photo with this post was from a dinner after our latest book event earlier this week at The Twig Book Shop in the old Pearl Brewery in San Antonio. Most of the people in this picture are friends and family that attended the event. This event was different from others in that many in attendance had read either “The Troves of Zac Love” or “Billy Love, A Pebble in the Galveston Sand”. As such, they had many good questions regarding both real and fictitious Galveston characters that are in those books. It was a lot of fun and I think Joy and I enlightened everyone a bit concerning the history of this amazing island in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Texas. These two books cover many parts of the lengthy history of this place from the early 1800s to well into the 21st century. All in all, it was a great event with tons of positive comments and encouragement.
